Inspector-General of Water Compliance
CONTEXT

Context
The Inspector-General of Water Compliance (IGWC) is an independent integrity agency for the Murray-Darling Basin.
Our Work
The IGWC originally engaged Horizon in May 2025 to develop scripts for a 100-minute education series about the significance of one of Australia’s most important landmarks, the Murray-Darling Basin. The brief changed dramatically when Horizon was asked to take on the full production of the series within one month, including securing a high-profile presenter and managing logistics and filming across multiple states.
The project included:
- In-depth desktop research including interviews with subject matter experts such as Professor Katie Holmes, La Trobe University.
- Scriptwriting 10 episodes each of 10-minute duration.
- Producing and directing the series.
- Securing a high-profile presenter, Marlee Silva, a leading voice in the media, sport and advocacy space.
- Production management including procuring a videographer and managing logistics including flights and filming permissions.
- Sourcing archival footage.
- Developing animated map vignettes of the Murray-Darling Basin which featured in the series.
Results
Despite the compressed timeframe and expanded scope, we delivered the full suite of content on time, to budget and to a standard that exceeded expectations.
